Briery Gap & Alchemy Arts Present: The Collector – The Presence of Absence which tells the story of The Collector – a recluse who has built his own world out of the discarded scraps of society. A Contemporary Circus production, The Presence of Absence relates the character’s backstory through a variety of media as he moves through his own world, gradually rebuilding his past.

With an intricate set design, detailed choreography and the unexpected use of everyday objects, writer and performer Will Flanagan brings his background in circus & physical theatre to the fore. Directed by award winning choreographer and director Eddie Kay, the presence of Absence explores themes of social isolation, mental health and finds the wonder in the seemingly eccentric.

"

This is the story of a man and his remnants. Together they live on a short street with long shadows, in his former father’s former shop, with a makeshift imagination and a suitcase with just enough space to fit inside…
